The programme, including two online sessions and a final in-person workshop, aims to support local stakeholders in advancing wood circularity in practice.
In this first session, participants will gain access to insights, data, and hands-on expertise shared by the project’s partners on upcycling wood waste, understanding the sustainability impact of recovered wood, and applying wood reuse and engineered wood products in construction. The session will also explore business models and circular approaches that can help organisations translate circular wood ambitions into viable and scalable wood construction projects.
This first online session is the start of a three-step programme for Rotterdam:
- Online Session 1 – 27 January 2026 (09:00–11:00 CET): Wood circularity, sustainability impact, wood construction practices and circular business models.
This first online session will include contributions from Urbasofia, Fundación ENT, DTI, Folkhem and EasyScience.
Next steps
Online Session 2 – 2 June 2026: Focus to be further shaped based on project progress and participant feedback, addressing technical and practical aspects of circular wood construction (including circular design guidance and value-chain considerations)
Final in-person workshop – February/March 2027: A practice-oriented event linked to real-life applications and demonstrators, showcasing technical performance, sustainability benefits and circular potential.
The capacity-building activities are specifically addressed to local actors and stakeholders in each pilot city, including relevant public authorities, businesses, designers and construction professionals working on wood reuse, circular construction and local circular value chains. Therefore, these sessions are not public.
