Woodcircles is coordinated by the Danish Technological Institute and gathers the expertise of 19 organisations, covering the entire wood value chain – from architects, developers, contractors, and timber suppliers to academics, digital designers and metropolitan regions.
Network
Woodcircles is part of the EU’s Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) which supports Europe’s circular economy at local and regional level. More specifically, Woodcircles is part of the Technical Working Group on Circular Construction and Buildings. It focuses on topics such as managing construction and demolition waste, facilitating markets for secondary materials as well as upgrading existing buildings and spaces.
The project collaborates with the Build-in-Wood Community, which is dedicated to stakeholders in the wood construction sector.

RECONSTRUCT
RECONSTRUCT aims to achieve circularity in the European construction sector and reduce its environmental impact by lowering the use of primary non-renewable raw materials.
Circ-BOOST
Circ-BOOST tests and upscales circular solutions for demolition, construction waste processing, management, and valorisation in new products.
TIMBERHAUS
TIMBERHAUS aims to increase wood use in construction by developing innovative, AI-driven prototypes using under-utilised hardwoods and post-consumer wood. The project supports sustainability, efficient resource use, and aligns with the New European Bauhaus by combining environmental, aesthetic, and social values in wood-based design.
