This week, Woodcircles’s partners met in Copenhagen for the General Assembly.
The visit to the Næste facility provided concrete insights into circular approaches in action, while the tour of construction sites following the dismantling of selected buildings opened the conversations on reuse, material flows, and the practical challenges of circular construction.

Outside the Næste facility, a mountain of non-reclaimed wood stands as the result of materials that cannot be reused.
These moments of shared observation and discussion helped ground the research and collaboration in tangible experiences, reinforcing why cross-disciplinary and cross-sector dialogue is so essential for moving circularity forward.
Overall, the Woodcircles project is progressing well and remains fully on track. As the project enters its final 18 months, activities move into a more dynamic phase, marked by increased engagement and closer interaction with the three pilot cities — Rotterdam, Tartu and Torino. While some challenges are still being addressed, the results are becoming increasingly concrete and tangible, opening the way for stronger collaboration, practical testing and real-world impact in the pilot locations, and not only.
Thanks to Enemærke & Petersen for hosting and organising the meeting and to DTI for welcoming the partners at their headquarters in Taastrup.
