Less than half of European waste-wood, an estimated 50 million tonnes per year resource, is currently being recycled. Woodcircles is a European innovation project that aims to significantly increase circular use of wood in construction. This will reduce waste and resource consumption.
To maximize impact, the Woodcircles solutions will be tested in three partner cities: Rotterdam (Netherlands), Tartu (Estonia), and Turin (Italy).
Industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from across Europe gathered at Serbia, Belgrade for the event, "Advancing the circular economy within the construction sector: challenges and opportunities,” to discuss the future of sustainable construction. The event focused on the critical role that circular models in the construction sector can play in reducing carbon emissions, preserving resources, and advancing the European Union’s Green Deal objectives.
Join us on September 9th at the World Green Building Week 2024 National Conference in Belgrade, Serbia, for the forum "Advancing the Circular Economy in the Construction Sector," led by Circ-Boost, RECONSTRUCT, and Woodcircles. We will explore innovations in circular design, waste management, and digital technologies shaping the future of sustainable construction.
Join us as we celebrate the International Day of Zero Waste on March 30th! Woodcircles, along with sister projects RECONSTRUCT and CIRC-Boost, will be releasing short videos on social media highlighting how circularity ensures a zero waste world.
