The Woodcircles Travelling Demonstrator has arrived in Tartu, Estonia, marking the first stop of its journey across Europe. Installed in front of the Estonian National Museum (ERM), the full-scale wooden structure brings the principles of circular construction to life and invites visitors to explore how buildings can be designed for reuse rather than demolition. The launch marks an important milestone for the project, bringing years of research, collaboration and innovation into a tangible experience that demonstrates how circular approaches can transform the future of timber construction.

Woodcircles pioneers sustainable construction with 100% recycled wood CLT panels

Through its partner Stora Enso, the European innovation project Woodcircles has achieved a milestone in sustainable construction by producing two full-scale cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels made from recycled wood at Stora Enso’s mill in Ybbs an der Donau, Austria. This breakthrough demonstrates the transformative potential of upcycling wood construction waste into high-quality, standardized engineered wood products.
